IJB Engineering Workplace Policy

Introduction

IJB Engineering is committed to providing a safe, professional, and productive work environment for all employees. This policy outlines the expected conduct, dress code, and operational guidelines for staff members working at the workshop in Hemel Hempstead and on-site at client locations. Adherence to this policy is mandatory for all employees.

2. Dress Code and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  1. High Visibility Clothing:
    • All employees must wear high-visibility (high-vis) clothing at all times while on-site and in the workshop. This includes high-vis vests, jackets, or shirts.
  2. Safety Footwear:
    • Employees must wear appropriate safety footwear with steel toes and non-slip soles in the workshop and on-site.
  3. Additional PPE:
    • Depending on the task, additional PPE such as hard hats, safety goggles, gloves, and ear protection may be required. Employees must comply with PPE requirements specific to their duties.

3. No Smoking Policy

  1. Workshop and On-Site Locations:
    • Smoking is strictly prohibited within the workshop and on-site at client locations.
  2. Designated Smoking Areas:
    • Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas outside the workshop premises. Employees must ensure they are in compliance with the no-smoking policy of client locations when on-site.

4. Professionalism and Conduct

  1. Professional Behavior:
    • Employees are expected to maintain professionalism at all times, both in the workshop and while on-site. This includes respectful communication with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  2. Punctuality:
    • Employees must adhere to scheduled working hours and arrive on time for their shifts. Any expected delays or absences should be communicated to the supervisor as soon as possible.
  3. Workmanship:
    • Employees must perform their duties with the highest standard of workmanship and quality. This includes following all operational procedures and safety protocols.
  4. Confidentiality:
    • Employees must maintain the confidentiality of company and client information. Sharing sensitive information without authorization is strictly prohibited.

5. Health and Safety

  1. Compliance:
    • Employees must comply with all health and safety regulations and guidelines as set forth by IJB Engineering and applicable laws.
  2. Incident Reporting:
    • Any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to a supervisor. Prompt reporting ensures timely action to mitigate risks and hazards.
  3. Training:
    • Employees are required to participate in any mandatory health and safety training sessions provided by the company.

6. On-Site Protocol

  1. Client Interaction:
    • Employees must interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner. Any issues or concerns raised by clients should be addressed promptly and reported to the project manager.
  2. Site Rules:
    • Employees must adhere to the specific rules and regulations of the client site, including safety procedures and site access protocols.
  3. Equipment and Tools:
    • Employees are responsible for the proper use and maintenance of company-provided equipment and tools. Any damage or loss must be reported immediately.

7. Enforcement and Disciplinary Actions

  1. Compliance Monitoring:
    • Supervisors and managers will monitor compliance with this policy. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action.
  2. Disciplinary Measures:
    • Disciplinary actions for policy violations may include verbal or written warnings, suspension, or termination of employment, depending on the severity of the infraction.

8. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains up-to-date and relevant. Employees will be notified of any changes or updates to the policy.

Acknowledgment

All employees are required to sign an acknowledgment form confirming they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this workplace policy.
